SSenStone Discusses European OT Security Cooperation with Visiting Delegation Led by Mayor of The Hague
SSenStone, an authentication security specialist, announced on the 25th that a delegation led by Jan van Zanen, the Mayor of The Hague, visited the company during their official trip to South Korea. The two parties discussed collaborative measures for operational technology (OT) security aimed at protecting industrial infrastructure across Europe. The Mayor was accompanied by officials from the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Korea.

The Hague is widely recognised as the undisputed hub of European cybersecurity, hosting Europol's European Cybercrime Centre (EC3). This meeting was facilitated by SSenStone’s selection as a promising cybersecurity firm for 'The Digital Softlanding Programme', a global accelerator initiative overseen by the Municipality of The Hague and the Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency. Through this programme, SSenStone will receive support to gain insights into the European cybersecurity market, refine its local Go-To-Market (GTM) strategy and verify compliance with European regulations such as NIS2 and the CRA. Furthermore, the company will benefit from introductions to local industry experts and partner networks, alongside 1:1 business matching opportunities linked to 'The ONE Conference', which takes place in The Hague this coming September and October.
During the meeting, both parties acknowledged the growing severity of sophisticated global OT security threats, and SSenStone shared its technical approach to tackling these challenges. The delegation agreed on the significant risks posed by authentication bypass and unauthorised access – issues increasingly prevalent in modern industrial control systems – and expressed strong interest in SSenStone's security model, which is designed to block such threats at the source.
In a subsequent technical demonstration, SSenStone showcased how it implements robust access control tailored for OT environments. The technology generates dynamic codes that change with every use, operating entirely offline without requiring any configuration changes to existing equipment or networks. This solution received a highly positive response from the delegation, as it effectively meets the strict security standards recommended by global bodies such as CISA, NIST and IEC 62443, as well as the EU's NIS2 directive, and can be seamlessly integrated into Europe's existing industrial infrastructure in the future.
